Death and Taxes - The importance of life insurnace

Yesterday, I visited a friend at the hospital who was diagnosed with liver cancer. He was initially confined because of complaint of blurry vision. He thought it was his diabetes acting up again. After several tests and only a day turnaround time, a 12cm mass was found in his liver. Extraction and biopsy followed then the diagnosis. He is 41 years old. He is his family's breadwinner. He has 2 boys. The eldest is 4-years old and the second is 3. The jolly, noisy, and always-singing friend I know is now thin and worrisome.

The Little Prince and its lessons

The Little Prince has been written in the 1940s by Antoine de Saint-Exupery yet its lessons never go Jurrasic. The lessons continually shed light to each one of us as its famous quotes are being referenced to until now. I have to admit that I have just read this book now although I have come across it several times before. I never felt the urge to read it... and boy, did I regret. I recommend you read it. Don't overthink it. Just move along the pages. I am sure you will not even want to stop once you get started.

The Boss

When I was in my senior year in high school, I was worried about my future. Which college should I go? What profession do I see myself practicing in the future? Would I be good at it? At a limbo, the future was an uncertain scary place.

Shaken up

I was at the 14th floor lobby waiting for the elevator on my way to lunch when everything shook. At first I thought I was having a vertigo attack. I leaned to the wall trying to keep my balance. When I saw the door shake intensely and the printers moving, I knew then it was an eathquake. 5 seconds passed and the shaking still did not stop. I rushed to the door hoping to go back to my office and hide under my table. I twisted and pulled the knob but it did not open. It was like playing tug-o-war with the door. Yes, I was in panic.
