Photography 101

Photography 101

Yes, there is more to photography than setting your camera to Automatic mode for Point-and-Shoot convenience. Your photo actually looks better when you explore the power of your Digital SLR camera. I bet it will jumpstart your love for photography too. ^_^

To our luck, this weekend is Sinulog weekend! Woot woot! ^_^  What better event to test our skills than the mardi gras, right?! Lots of colors and lots of still and moving subjects. It's gonna be challenging!

Here are some crash courses or tutorials that will equip you for this weekend. These are YouTube videos posted by CanonAustralia. I have a Canon camera so I find the videos convenient and very helpful. I hope you will too.

  1. Getting Started: ISO, Shutter Speed, and Aperture Tutorial
  2. Getting Started: Depth of Field Photography
  3. Getting Started: Full Auto and Basic Modes
  4. Getting Started: Photography Composition
  5. Getting Started: Moving to Next Level of Photography Tips

Photography is an art. It is not true that anyone who holds the latest and most expensive camera is an artist. Photography requires skill. However, skill can be learned too! And it is perfected through practice. Practice, practice, practice, and more practice! Most importantly, always have fun!

Are you ready to show the world what you see through your lens?! I bet you are! ^_^

Sinulog here I come! Woot woot!
