no drama birthdays
My lola is now 89 years old. She thinks my dad is her nephew and my brother is his sibling. She never forgets Nate as she continually asks why I always leave him at home whenever I come to visit. She is strong and still consistently speaks English. She even corrects our grammar. She served as principal in a College at Rizal, Zamboanga del Norte. I heard she was one of the terror but efficient and effective teachers of her time. When my siblings and I were young, she used to teach us action songs of praise both in English and Bisaya. My lola and I also share the same mole placement on our forehead. What a wonderful long life she has. Yesterday we celebrated our birthday. Happy birthday to us, Lola Consor. :)
Here's a candle for every year of my life. When you reach this age, there's just very little need for drama. Nature’s gift to me? ** sniff sniff ** my flu-like cough and colds, plus heartache.
Cheers to another start of another year’s countdown.
