Pasalubong is common to all Filipinos. I do it to friends and relatives who travel too. It is the Filipino culture's form of "parayg" or endearment when they ask you for pasalubong (gifts). It's our way of appreciating them for being able to go and see the world. It's a tap on the shoulder saying, "Good job! Have fun!" It is received as a flattery but we have to watch for it so as not to overdo it. Make sure you are not putting pressure on the traveler.
This is the official campaign video of Department of Tourism for the tagline, "It's more fun in the Philippines". I had so much fun watching and laughing at how I couldn't help but agree in all text written on it.
Watch the video. Let's explore The Philippines!
I was attending the Saturday mass vigil at Sacred Heart Parish last night and I came across the last page of their Ignite magazine. It's the Easter Exercise. It says, "Wake up in the morning and realize it's Easter then jump for joy". Easter truly is a wonderful feeling. For us Catholics, this is the most significant event of our faith, Jesus' resurrection. It is a time of celebration.
Last March 16, Cebu was once again in the map as bloggers, social advocates, journalists, and online business persons flocked to get involved. It was a whole day event of interaction and education. It was conducted at J Center Mall. The event was very well-attended even by big personalities such Maria Ressa of Rappler and Bianca Gonzales.
Don't take life too seriously. No one ever gets out of it alive anyway. LOL So why don't we just do the Harlem Shake?! Hehe
Remember the baby we ran for 2 Hearts to Beat Fun Run and the several garage sales we participated in? Yes, Baby Gabrielle had undergone her open heart surgery and have survived the whole ordeal. Yehey! Congratulations to everyone for helping. You saved Baby Gabrielle's heart. This is the latest picture of baby Gabrielle. She is healthy and strong. Believe it or not, in the almost-seven years that we have been together, it is only at these times that we are most peaceful and harmonious. We probably have already adjusted to the life of being married. It is also probably because we both individually decided to stop worrying. Throw all worries up in the air. We only have one life to live. We better live it! We are enjoying each other's company more than the world. We stopped looking at each other as the enemy. In this world, all we got is only each other.
