I have heard of Groupon but have been sceptic of its offerings. It's just too good to be true. Imagine a concert ticket that costs Php3,000 could only be gotten for Php500 through Groupon? Or a Hair Color Package that should have been Php2,000 is only Php500. They have very low travel deals too. It made me think.. "What's the catch?". Alas, I was naive and ignorant.
There's a new foodie place open in town. It's YakiMIX. The food is great and the line is long. Be sure to call for reservation.
Bacolod is only a 45min-flight away from Cebu. For Cebuanos, we have no excuse of not ever setting foot there. Bacolod has the best places that give the most delicious sweet treats. Caleya, Kuppa, Bong-Bongs, Pendy's.. these are only to name a few. Delicacies are plenty too -- napoleones, piyaya, half moon, cheesecake, chocolate cake. They are the best! Other food to try are grilled chicken and kansi.
Microsoft launched a new website called “How Old Do I Look?” I learned of it first from a twitter post of Mashable. It’s a web-based app that is meant to showcase Microsoft’s Face Recognition API. You have a choice to try the app using pre-loaded sample pictures. For more fun results, however, you also have the option of trying your own photos. Although the site says they do not keep any of your personal photos uploaded to the app, I would still be careful in doing so. For the fun of it, go ahead and try it.
Butterbean is in its soft opening and is there for the lovers of sweet. The cafe is strategically located near the best restaurants in town. You may choose to dine at Quest's buffet, Parklane's buffet, Simply J's, Kuya J's, or Surfin' Ribs and then drive or walk to Butterbean for your dessert. My personal preference is Surfin' Ribs. That way, I don't have to drive or change parking space to get my dessert. Surfin' Ribs and Butterbean are in the same block. In fact, they're in the same building.
